About Enyorata Pre & Primary School

Stephanie grew up in Tanzania and her father still lives in nearby Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge. She met Vincent when he worked as a waiter at the lodge and was always interested in the work he was doing whilst setting up Enyorata Orphanage in 2017, followed by the school in 2022. Stephanie lives in rural Devon and visits Tanzania frequently.

Stefan met Vincent when on holiday in Tanzania and visited the school. He lives in Germany.

Linda & Adrian first found out about Vincent and the orphanage through Stephi whom they knew from days long ago working in the Serengeti with the wildlife cameraman Baron Hugo van Lawick. Stephi had posted on Facebook that she wanted to have beef curry and some fresh mango as a treat meal for the children at the orphanage. Could anyone fund it for US$50? When Linda, Adrian and their family were on holiday in Tanzania in 2022 they stayed at Stephi’s childhood home Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge and Vincent took them to visit the orphanage and the school. It was a memorable day and started Linda & Adrians’s journey to help raise sponsors for children at the school and donations to support Vincent’s plans to buy the land the orphanage and school are based on. They sponsor a girl called Whelan.

Tracy met Vincent in 2016 when she stayed with friends at a bed and breakfast, Blues and Chutney.  They had travelled to Tanzania to volunteer at an English immersion school in a pre-primary Montessori program. Tracy, Betsy and Sharon frequently talked with Vincent during their 3 -week stay and became friends with him. After leaving Tanzania, Vincent and Tracy kept in touch, and Vincent asked Tracy if she would be interested in a Children's Home with him. Not realising the extent to which she would become involved, Tracy said, "Yes." From that point forward, Tracy has been passionate about helping the Children's Home grow and thrive. In June of 2018, Tracy formed a non-profit, Little Souls of Tanzania, a 501(c)3.

Alex and Jonny first heard about Enyorata through a local London friend with links to Tanzania. As a result of this connection, they agreed to sponsor a little girl called Bethan by covering her annual education costs. When planning a family holiday to Tanzania in August 2022, they got in touch with Vincent to arrange a visit to Enyorata so that we could meet Bethan and see the amazing work at the school and orphanage first hand. It was a truly life-enriching experience for the whole family, and wonderful to see the great results being achieved with very limited resources. Alex and Jonny have continued to support Enyorata over the past two years and hope to visit again next August when their son, Tom, plans to return to Tanzania to volunteer at the school prior to climbing Kilimanjaro.
